WHY IT BELONGS IN THE STACK

Perception is only useful if the decision reaches the machine.

In a freshwater pool robot, vision can identify obstacles, coverage, contamination or operating state. Edge AI can decide what matters. The communication layer then carries a bounded command or telemetry message across the water-system boundary so control can respond.

This is not a separate communications business. It is a targeted extension of the same perception-to-action architecture used across Universe AI Tech robotics programs.

Our engineering work began during the early commercial development of magnetic-induction communication, giving the team practical experience in turning the physical principle into an OEM-ready machine interface.

SYSTEM LOGIC

Vision → edge decision → magnetic link → robot control.

The communication module occupies one defined boundary in the system. It does not replace perception, autonomy or control.

PHYSICAL PRINCIPLE

Near-field magnetic induction—not conventional underwater RF.

A driven transmit coil produces a quasi-static alternating magnetic field. A receive coil couples to that field, induces an electrical signal and demodulates the information.

Coupling is strongly dependent on distance and geometry; the source material states induced receiver voltage attenuation is proportional to 1/d³, where d is coil spacing. That is why system validation must include the real enclosure, coil orientation and installation geometry.

TECHNICAL FAQ

Answers that separate present capability from future potential.

What is underwater magnetic-induction communication?

A transmitting coil generates a quasi-static alternating magnetic field. A receiving coil detects the coupled signal and demodulates the information. It is a near-field magnetic-induction link, not conventional radio-frequency propagation through water.

Why use it in a freshwater pool robot?

It can provide a sealed command-and-telemetry path in an environment where conventional RF links attenuate rapidly. Technical fit still depends on range, coil orientation, enclosure, geometry, interference, power and the required data volume.

Can magnetic-induction communication work through rock or underground?

It can support selected command, status and telemetry paths through rock, concrete-adjacent structures and underground environments because it uses near-field magnetic induction rather than conventional RF propagation. Feasibility depends on distance, material, coil geometry, alignment, enclosure and electromagnetic interference, so the real installation must be tested.

What is the current reference configuration?

The current reference baseline is 15–50 m range, 1 kbps data rate, UART, half-duplex operation, 1.2 W active power, 100 mW standby power, 200 g mass and a 71.34 × 71.34 × 12.28 mm enclosure. These values are engineering inputs, not universal guarantees.

Can Universe AI Tech provide an OEM magnetic-induction module?

Yes. Universe AI Tech provides project-defined OEM configurations covering the module, coil geometry, enclosure, embedded interface, firmware behavior, AI or control integration, validation plan and commercial delivery boundary.

Are longer ranges or higher data rates available?

The source materials describe higher-specification and roadmap targets, but this page does not present them as current production performance. Any alternative configuration must be documented and validated under named test conditions before quotation or design-in.
